Car Art…Up Close and Personal

There is an elegant beauty in the design of cars from an older, earlier time. The curve of headlight cover, the sharp angles of a fin, and a myriad of other features attract my eye as I walk among classic cars at a car show.

My husband likes to see the whole car in a photo, as I do, but I also like to see bits and pieces that highlight the style of a time passed. Without any explanation for why some part of a car caught my eye, here is a collection of what I call "Car Art" for you to enjoy.

Pontiac Club Classic Car Show Delights Seguinites

The Annual Pontiac Car Club Classic Car Show took place on Saturday around Seguin's courthouse and central park. Cars checked in every few minutes.

The drivers were given directions to where they were to park. They drove slowly past other cars to find their spot.

Then they proceded to back in, guided by club officials.

Sometimes, several people helped guide a driver as he backed into position.

I have a special place in my heart for corvettes, especially this model, since I drove a similar one for almost ten years. What fun that was.

The show car owners spent a lot of time polishing their beautiful automobiles.

The long rows of cars, with their hoods up so that folks could admire their engines, seemed to be a little more colorful than some years.

This car owner displayed awards and memorabilia from past car shows in front of his car.

One young man brought his lowrider bicycle and showed it right next to the old classics. It was a piece of art.
