Texans take great pride in the bluebonnet. It blooms in March and April, and is gone by May, but Ooooooh, while it is in bloom, we celebrate. There are bluebonnet photo contests, and lots and lots of folks stopping to wade through roadside blankets of blue to take pictures of their children sitting in the patches of flowers.
I am just like so many other Texans with a camera in my hand, down on my knees to get as close as possible to the beauteous blue blooms. Here are a few shots to prove it!
