As spring changes to summer, the flowers one can find along the roadside and in the fields of central Texas also change. Bluebonnets are gone, thistles have peaked, but there are plenty of prickly poppies to be found. Their brilliant white petals and deep yellow centers give them a beauty all their own. Just a word of warning...they have very sharp, prickly leaves, so watch out when you get close to them!
